Academic City University Gaming Club Partners with Esports Association, Ghana to Drive Scholastic Esports Initiatives

Accra, 7th June 2023 – The Academic City University Gaming Club (ACITY Gaming Club) is thrilled to announce its partnership with the Esports Association, Ghana (EAG) to promote scholastic esports, tournaments, and programs. A virtual meeting between the executives of both organizations was held to discuss the collaboration and their shared goals of fostering professionalism in student esports while fostering connections with university esports locally and internationally for long-term sustainability.

The ACITY Gaming Club was founded with the vision of providing a platform for students to cultivate their skills and knowledge in various facets of the gaming industry. While our primary focus lies in game development and hardware, we also strive to highlight gaming as a form of entertainment and bring individuals together through shared experiences.

Our club endeavours to offer opportunities for members to explore their creativity and refine their abilities in game design and development. Additionally, we aim to provide insights into the hardware and technology that drive the gaming industry. By creating a collaborative space for members to share ideas and work together, we believe we can generate exciting and innovative projects that showcase the talent and potential within our community.

Furthermore, we seek to encourage gaming as a source of entertainment and foster connections among individuals with similar interests. We aim to facilitate members’ interactions and promote an enjoyable gaming experience. We firmly believe that gaming can be a powerful instrument for building relationships and fostering a sense of community.

In summary, the ACITY Gaming Club’s objectives are to provide a platform for students to develop their skills and knowledge in various aspects of the gaming industry, promote gaming as entertainment, and bring people together through shared experiences. We are thrilled to welcome all members who share our passion for gaming and eagerly anticipate the countless opportunities and possibilities that lie ahead.

During the virtual call, Mr Kwesi Hayford, a representative from the Esports Association, Ghana, highlighted the potential for organized esports student groups to participate in exchange programs with global universities, enabling them to further their esports and career development.

The meeting also included other esteemed members of the Esports Association, Ghana, namely Herbert Kraku, the Business Development Director; Prince Aggrey Dwumfour, the Ashanti Region Director; and Maximus Amertorgoh, the International Relations Director.

Representing the ACITY Gaming Club executives were President Akwasi Anto, Vice President Delasie Bansah, General Secretary Nyhira Okla, and Assistant Planning & Organizing Secretary Yiniteili Abii.
